Trax plays the movies and shows on a Trax media server, whether you run the server yourself or a family member or friend has invited you to theirs. It works on Android phones, tablets and Android TV, and it keeps your place across all of them.
Trax has no content of its own. You need an account on a Trax server to use it.
WATCHING
• Your files play as they are, decoded in hardware, with HDR and Dolby Vision where the screen supports them.
• Filmstrip previews show where you are as you seek.
• Skip Intro and Skip Credits.
• The next episode starts by itself.
• Text and image subtitles, shown over the picture.
• Your audio and subtitle choices are remembered for each show and film.
• The time a film will end is shown next to the playback time.
• On Android TV, surround sound can pass through to your AV receiver.
• On phones and tablets, a film keeps playing in a small window while you use other apps.
FINDING SOMETHING TO WATCH
• Continue Watching and Next Up follow you from device to device.
• Search by title, episode, actor or director.
• Film and show pages give the synopsis, director and cast, rating, running time, and the file's resolution and format.
• A show's theme music plays softly when you open its page. Each profile can turn it off.
• Discover shows what is new and popular, and you can request a film or show for your server.
SHARING A SCREEN
• A household gives each person who shares a TV or tablet their own profile, with their own watch history and viewing limits, opened with a short PIN.
