ABOUT STRING SYSTEMS
My name is Prokopis Skordis. Here's a quick summary of my relationship with the wonderful art of music:

I started taking classical guitar lessons at the age of 10, way back in the late 20th century (1987 - good times). I continued on to take theory, harmony, ear training, solfege, and other boring lessons, until I graduated from the Greek National Conservatory with a diploma in classical guitar.

I was then fortunate enough to get a Fulbright Program scholarship which allowed me to enroll in Berklee College Of Music in 1997. I concentrated on electric guitar and also took classes in improvisation, composition, arranging, production, engineering, and more.

I graduated "Summa Cum Laude" (which basically means "this guy is very good") in 2001, with a degree in Music Production and Engineering (although I now find teaching and playing way more fun).

Since 2001 I have been living in Limassol, Cyprus, teaching music to students of all ages and levels, and taking part in various bands and projects playing guitar or electric bass.

The last few years I have concentrated in developing new ways to teach (and learn) music more effectively. Since 2014 I have started the process of putting these methods into digital format. These are tried and tested effective methods, so expect more and more good stuff coming to this app!

I'm actually trying to learn the ukulele fretboard. I'm a trained musician (but not on fretted instruments) , so I don't need so much the theoretical skills as I need to learn the fretboard and to apply my knowledge. I like how you set to free drills for learning the fretboard, as well as backing tracks to play and improvise with. I wish there was something like this specifically for ukulele, but I can adapt the skills. Overall, I like your musical approach.

Thanks for the feedback, Jeff! I'm glad to hear that my lessons are helping you. I never thought of doing a version for the ukelele šŸ¤”. I will put this on my list of future project ideas!

This app isn't bad for what it is, but it isn't very much. It isn't interactive. If you're expecting a virtual fretboard, this isn't it. It's a few videos and a couple of PDF files. Mostly, it's an advertisement for the paid courses offered on the website.

Hello, Stephen. Thank you for rating my app. Indeed, as per the description and screenshots, this is not a "gamified" interactive app. However, the play-along drills are a lot of fun and they give you great results. They simulate what happens when playing music and needing to target notes for switching scales, etc.

This app is totally awesome, and compliments the FREE course, also called "Fretboard Memorization Toolbox" which is available free of charge on the main "String Systems" website. This website is the passion of Prokopis Skordis, who has devoted his entire career, on developing what has become an awesome series of courses, many available FREE ... I would recommend paying the site a visit, but be warned, you WILL get addicted to his lesson presentation and content. His work deserves much success.
