About this app

Pigeons on your balcony, roof or in the garden? Raptor – Pigeon Deterrent tries a natural, deliberately experimental approach: the app plays the calls of real birds of prey – the pigeon's natural enemies – at random times. No nets, no spikes, no gel.

HONEST UP FRONT
This is an experiment, not a guarantee. Whether pigeons actually stay away depends heavily on the location, volume, placement and habituation. The approach CAN work – but it does not have to. Think of the app as an attempt worth trying, not a sure-fire solution.

HOW IT WORKS
• Pick the raptors, volume and schedule.
• Activate – after a short lead-in (with countdown) the first call sounds.
• It then keeps playing at random, natural-feeling times.
• Tap ▶ to test any call instantly.

REAL BIRD-OF-PREY CALLS
Peregrine Falcon, Northern Goshawk, Eurasian Sparrowhawk, Common Buzzard, Common Kestrel and Eurasian Eagle-Owl – chosen by time of day (the owl at night, for example). Recordings are sourced under free Creative Commons licences.

PLAYBACK YOUR WAY
• Through the phone speaker, right where you need it.
• Or – usually more effective – through a loud Bluetooth speaker.
• On Android it keeps running as a background service even with the screen off; switch it off straight from the notification.

COMPLETELY FREE
Every feature is free – no catch: all six birds of prey and the full sound variety, a fully configurable schedule with a 24-hour plan, cluster mode, Bluetooth speaker output and background playback. No purchases, no subscription, no ads. Because the approach is experimental, no one should have to pay for it.

PLEASE NOTE
You choose volume and placement on your own responsibility – please respect quiet hours, neighbours, pets and wildlife. Observe local noise and wildlife-protection rules and do not use the app near nesting, breeding or roosting sites of protected animals. Deterrence is expressly not guaranteed; the approach is experimental and success depends on the situation and habituation.
