About this app

Write a letter on a topic you care about and reply to the letters that speak to you. Every letter is signed with the writer's pen-name card, and a conversation opens only when the letter's author accepts your reply. For ages 19+ worldwide.

HOW IT WORKS
- Pen-name card: every letter is signed with your pen name, a one-line intro, the topics you like, your age range, your region if you choose to show it, and the month you joined. Your real name, email address and phone number are never shown.
- Topic letters: pick a topic such as everyday life, walks, books, music, film, food, travel, fitness, pets, work, photography or games. Your letter stays on the shore for 72 hours, where several people can read it, and it can receive up to 3 replies.
- You choose what to answer: read the letters on the shore and reply only to the ones you want to.
- Conversations need both people: the letter's author reads each reply along with the sender's pen-name card and chooses "Continue the conversation" before any messages can be sent.

WRITE WITH PEACE OF MIND
- Text only. No photos.
- Contact details, messenger IDs and links can't be sent. Letters, replies, messages and pen-name cards are safety-screened before delivery.
- Report and block from any letter, reply, message or pen-name card.

BOTTLES
- Posting a letter uses one bottle. One bottle is free every 24 hours.
- Optional: watch a rewarded ad to the end to get one more bottle, once every 24 hours. Ads play only when you choose to watch one.
- A pack of 5 bottles is available as an in-app purchase. Bottles don't expire.
- You can post up to 3 letters every 24 hours.
- Optional: use 1 saved bottle to read only letters from one country for 24 hours, based on the region on the writer's pen-name card. If that country has no letters on the shore, no bottle is used.
- Reading the shore, replying, conversations, reporting and blocking are free. Bottles don't guarantee a reply or a conversation.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Sign in with Google in every country. In South Korea, also verify your identity and age (19+) through PortOne. Elsewhere, enter your date of birth to confirm you are 19 or older.

What’s new

• Ocean currents: see where and when your letter lands; take it back while it's at sea.
• Another way to send: for 1 to 9 extra bottles, pick a country and send by helicopter, mail ship, seaplane, submarine, rocket or Santa (up to 5 countries, once a day). No letter gets priority.
• Postmarks, route replays, and local time and weather on the beach.
• Invite friends: get 5 bottles when a friend uses your code within 7 days of joining, sends a letter and returns the next day. They get 3.
