About this app

Capychat is a cozy little home for two, for couples who miss each other.

Capychat is for Android, and it works with a partner on iPhone too: pair across phones and share the same room.

You each get a capybara in one shared room, wherever you both are. Boop each other, doodle on each other's home screen, answer a question a day together, and make the room your own. Small moments, felt far away.

DOODLE ON THEIR HOME SCREEN
Tap the picture frame in your room and draw. When you pause, your drawing lands on your person's Capychat widget, even when the app is closed. There is no send button and no chat thread.

DRAW TOGETHER, LIVE
Open the canvas at the same time and watch each other's strokes appear as they are drawn.

BOOP
Tap their capybara to send a boop, a quick little "thinking of you" that arrives as a gentle notification.

ONE QUESTION A DAY
Answer in secret. When you have both replied, you see each other's answers at once. Answer together day after day to grow Our streak and the plant in your room.

CARD DECKS FOR TWO
Pick a deck, answer a card, and discover something new about each other.

PLAY GAMES TOGETHER
Turn on the room TV for little games you can play with your person, including Four in a row.

LEAVE PAW PRINTS EVERY DAY
Check in with a photo or a simple "I'm here" and make a small moment part of your day together.

MOOD LANTERNS
Light the lantern above your capybara so your person knows how you are doing.

YUZUS, GIFTS AND YOUR BURROW
Show up together to fill a shared basket with yuzus. Spend them on a new rug, sofa, lamp or wallpaper for your room, or send a little gift wrapped in a furoshiki for your person to unwrap.

CHIME AND US
Chime shows what your person has been up to. Us keeps your days together, both of your streaks, and the anniversaries and birthdays you are counting down to.

ANDROID AND IPHONE
Pair with your person whichever phone they use. Share a six-character code and your capybaras move in together.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything you send goes only to the one person you are paired with. There is no public feed. You can unpair or delete your account at any time from Settings.

CAPYCHAT PLUS
Capychat is free to use, including live drawing, boops, the daily question, moods, gifts and decorating. Free accounts can send 3 drawings to the widget per person each day. Capychat Plus removes that limit, lets you pick the Deep talk, Future us and Spicy question packs, opens six more card decks and every past drawing (free accounts open the newest 3), and adds two extra app icons. One subscription covers you both.

Capychat Plus comes as an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase that does not renew, both billed through Google Play. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can manage or cancel it at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions.

The annual plan includes a one-week free trial for eligible new subscribers. Pricing and trial eligibility are shown before you subscribe.

Yuzu bundles are optional one-time purchases for your shared basket. Spend them on gifts and room decor; you can also earn yuzus by showing up together.
