PaintLab is a paint inventory management and color mixing simulator app for plastic model and model making.

"What paints do I need to mix to make this color?" "I bought the same paint again..." -- This app solves all those model-making problems in one place.

■ Main Features

【Color Mixing Simulator】
Select 2-3 paints you own or are interested in, set the mixing ratio, and you can instantly simulate the resulting color. Ratios can be set from presets (e.g., 50:30:20) or manually adjusted in 1% increments. The system also displays commercially available paints that closely match the resulting color mix, allowing you to compare and choose between mixing the paint yourself or buying a similar color.


[Paint Analysis (Recipe Reverse Calculation)]
By specifying the desired color (target color), the system suggests the top 5 paint combinations and mixing ratios that will get closest to that color. You can select the target color from the paint list or retrieve it from a photograph. You can search by specifying the type of paint you want to use: lacquer, water-based hobby paint, acrylic, Tamiya acrylic, or enamel. Narrowing the search to "My Paints (Only Available)" will find recipes that can be created using only the paints you currently have at home.


[Retrieve Color from Image]
You can extract colors from photos taken with your camera or from images in your gallery. You can use example photos, actual reference materials, or parts used for paint tests to directly set your desired color as your target color.


[My Paints (Inventory Management)]
Register and manage your paints, including the number of bottles. It also supports barcode (JAN code) scanning, allowing you to register simply by scanning the barcode on the bottle. With out-of-stock warnings, sorting by manufacturer, color system, and category, and color-based search, your growing paint collection will never get lost.


[Purchase List]
Add missing paints to your purchase list. You can add out-of-stock paints by tapping them on the color mixing simulator results screen. Use it as a checklist before shopping.


[Save Custom Color Recipes]
Color mixing and analysis results can be saved as "Custom Colors." The mixing ratio is recorded, so you won't get lost when recreating the same color later.


[Statistics]
See at a glance the breakdown of your paint collection by manufacturer, category, and color system. This helps you understand your collection trends and is useful for deciding what to buy next.


■ Included Paint Database
Includes over 1,200 colors of model paints from major domestic brands such as GSI Creos (Mr. Color, Mr. Color GX, Aqueous Hobby Color, Acrylion, etc.), Gaia Notes, and Tamiya (Acrylic, Enamel, Lacquer).

■ Designed for Safe Use
- All registered inventory and recipe data is stored only on your device (only payment-related communications necessary for purchase processing are sent externally).
- Supports data backup (export/import).
- Supports two languages: Japanese and English.
- Supports light and dark themes.

■ Pricing
The app is free to download. The free version has some limitations, such as the number of registrations. All limitations can be removed with an in-app purchase (1,100 yen, one-time purchase). There are no monthly fees.

■ Notes
- The colors displayed on the screen are approximate. We do not guarantee the actual paint color or the result of color mixing. Due to the nature of paint, the brightness and saturation may differ from the screen display when mixing.
- This app is developed by an individual. The paint names and product information listed are factual information based on each company's products and do not indicate any affiliation or endorsement with any manufacturer.
