EP-PatchStudio builds sample kits and multisamples for Teenage Engineering's EP-series samplers, then sends them to your device over USB. It also backs up your projects and lets you manage the samples on your device from your phone or tablet.
If you own an EP-133 K.O. II, EP-1320 Medieval or EP-40 Riddim, you know the squeeze: great sounds, a tiny screen and a slow road from a sample on your phone to a pad on your sampler. This app is the shortcut. Import audio, trim it, build a kit and load it onto the hardware.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Import WAV and AIFF files from your phone or a cloud drive
- Trim, fade, loop and tune samples by touch, in one-shot, key or loop mode
- Create multisamples for the EP-40 Riddim, mapped across the keyboard
- Normalise, trim and rename a whole batch of samples in one pass
- Browse, preview and replace the samples on your device in the File Manager
- Back up your device and keep every backup in a library you can restore from
- Open a project to see its pads and patterns on a timeline, then export MIDI, stems or an Ableton Live set
- Save favourite samples as packs and push them to any EP device in one go
WORKS WITH
- EP-133 K.O. II
- EP-1320 Medieval
- EP-40 Riddim
Multisamples are EP-40 Riddim only. You connect with a USB-C cable, so your phone or tablet needs USB host (OTG) support. Most recent Android devices have it.
No hardware to hand? You can still build and edit, then send it over when you plug in.
FREE AND PRO
The Sample Editor is free, with no ads and no account. Pro unlocks everything that talks to your device, plus the Batch Processor, backups, the Project Viewer, the Project Library and Sample Packs. Every Pro tool is open for 14 days after you install, with no sign-up. After that, Pro is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play. Buy once, no subscription.
A NOTE FROM ME
I'm a solo developer and a sampler nerd. I built EP-PatchStudio because I wanted grown-up software for these little machines, and I keep improving it based on what the community asks for. If something is missing or broken, tell me.
