Dead ships drift in the outer dark. Their cargo is still aboard, and so is whatever killed the crew.
The Outer Darkness is a turn-based sci-fi roguelike and dungeon crawler about salvaging derelict spaceships. Pick a wreck on your scanner, dock, and move through it room by room toward the extraction point. Get out alive and the loot is yours. Die, and you lose everything you carried aboard.
★ PUSH YOUR LUCK Every room is a choice. Take the safer corridor or risk the cargo bay for better loot? You only keep what you carry out, so each step deeper raises the stakes. This is a roguelike extraction game where greed can kill you.
★ AIMED TURN-BASED COMBAT Fights are tactical turn-based duels inspired by classic RPG aimed shots. Target the head, eyes, arms, legs or core, and each body part has its own hit chance and payoff. Blind a Stalker, cripple a Crawler's legs, crack a Warden's shell. Choosing where to shoot matters more than choosing the biggest gun. Spend your action points on shots, stims, shields and flares, and watch out for bleeding, acid and suit breaches.
★ EVERY DERELICT IS DIFFERENT Each boarding builds a new seeded ship map from fight, loot, supply and event rooms. Ore haulers, passenger liners and research vessels each have their own rooms, loot and creatures. Ship conditions change the rules: • Low Oxygen: your air runs down with every move. • Darkness: you can't see the rooms ahead, and you aim worse. • Infested: more things in the dark, and they are hungry.
★ SPACE HORROR, NOT GORE Near-black 1-bit pixel art, flickering CRT screens, terminal-style logs and an unreliable scanner. The tension comes from what you can't see.
★ STRANGE EVENTS Find crew logs, survivors and signals that should not be there. Make choices with no right answer and live with what follows.
★ UPGRADE YOUR SALVAGER Sell your loot back at your ship. Buy weapons and gear, pick your loadout and install suit mods such as armor plating, servos, a HUD and bio-mods. Every run makes you stronger, but a bad run can take your best gear with it.
★ BUILT FOR MOBILE • One boarding takes 5–15 minutes, so it fits a coffee break. • Portrait mode, one-handed play. • Runs are saved, so you can stop anytime and pick up where you left off. • Deterministic runs: you can't reroll your fate, which keeps every win earned. • Fair by design. No pay-to-win.
