Plan a week of meals. Get one shopping list that has already done the adding up. Nothing leaves your phone.
MealMatrix is a meal planner and grocery list for people who cook from a plan — not a social network, not a subscription, and not another app that wants an account before it will do anything.
WHY THE SHOPPING LIST IS THE POINT
Most planners hand you a list of recipes and let you work out the shopping yourself. MealMatrix does the arithmetic:
• Two onions in Tuesday's curry and one in Friday's shakshuka become a single line that says three onions.
• 500 g of flour and 1 kg of flour become 1.5 kg — not two lines you have to add up in the aisle.
• Cooking four portions of a two-serving recipe doubles that recipe's ingredients automatically.
• Anything your Pantry says is already in stock is left off entirely, and the app tells you what it skipped so you can double-check.
• Every line shows which meals it came from, so a surprising quantity is always explainable.
Things that cannot be added together are never forced together — two cloves of garlic and one bulb stay separate lines rather than becoming nonsense.
WHAT YOU GET
• A seven-day planner with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, and per-meal serving counts.
• A recipe bank with twelve starter recipes, plus a proper editor for your own — ingredients, quantities, units, aisle, cooking notes, prep time and calories.
• Search and filter by meal type, or by high-protein, quick, vegetarian and budget.
• A grocery list grouped by aisle, in the order you actually walk a shop, with tick-off, hand-typed extras that survive a regenerate, and one-tap sharing as plain text.
• A pantry of staples you can toggle in and out of stock.
• Copy a week forward when you want to repeat it.
• Metric or imperial display — your recipes are stored exactly as you typed them, so "1 cup rice" is never quietly rewritten as "236 ml rice".
• Light and dark, following your phone.
GENUINELY OFFLINE
This is not "offline mode". The version on Google Play is built without the Android internet permission at all, so the app is structurally incapable of sending your data anywhere. There are no accounts, no sync, no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads and no in-app purchases. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel.
Your data is yours: export a readable JSON backup whenever you like, and import it back on any device. Automatic Google Drive backup is switched off on purpose, so the only copies are the ones you make deliberately.
Works on a plane, on the underground, and in a supermarket with no signal.
Plan your week's meals, then get one grocery list that adds itself up. Offline.
