About this app

Slop Score maps who really owns the places around you. Restaurants, coffee shops, barbers, vets, dentists, and more, scored 1 to 10 based on our editorial read of ownership structure.

Green means actually local: family-run, founder-led, or independent per public information.
Yellow means group-operated: a restaurant or hospitality group runs it. A classification, not a verdict.
Red means private equity, roll-up, or corporate ownership, per public records and reporting.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Browse the map and see the color of every spot near you
- Search by name, neighborhood, or craving
- Read the receipts: sourced ownership notes on every red claim
- Post your own verdict: back it or call it slop
- Add missing spots straight from the map
- Climb the community rankings

WHERE WE COVER
New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Richmond, and Princeton, with more cities on the way. Over 1,300 spots researched so far.

OUR APPROACH
Slop Score ratings are our editorial opinion, based on our published methodology and public sources available at the time of review. Ownership facts are cited. Scores are opinions, not statements of fact, and every page has a correction link.

Support the places that make your neighborhood worth living in. Know who owns it.
See who really owns every local spot. Back the locals, sniff out the slop.
