Z-Machine is not the games themselves and does not contain or require any ROMs to play.
Z-Machine simply provides an interface to the publicly available Internet Archive posting of the streaming version of the games found here:

Ratings and reviews

I like the idea but the execution needs some work. Frequently the keyboard would stop working. The only way I could get it to work was restarting the app which meant losing my progress:( could use some word wrapping as well so you can bump up the font size. I think $2 may be too much if all that is being provided is a link to an archive page. The app should offer more features to justify the price.

After loading a different program this one does open and is playable. Problems: You can't save your progress which makes playing difficult. If you scroll off the app the keyboard will stop registering and you will need to restart the app to get the keyboard to register again. The text is also so small I need a magnifying to see it. Does the game function yes, is it what I was looking for no. For me this game isn't playable. I love Zork and I was really hoping this work be app for me.

As another user said, the keyboard will frequently stop working suddenly and there seems to be no way to correct it besides restarting the app, which wipes your progress. This essentially makes the game unplayable which is extraordinarily dissapointing especially as the app is not free.
