Trubka is a simple app for voice and video calls with loved ones. The first Trubka prototype was created in just two weeks after WhatsApp and Telegram calls were blocked in Russia. No unnecessary complexity: add contacts, get an extension number, and make calls in just two taps—even on networks that require a VPN.
Communicates only with people you've added to your contacts. It works without a VPN or third-party workarounds. We don't ask for a phone number. Profile information is minimal: just a name and avatar. You can make both voice and video calls through Trubka.
Streams are transmitted using WebRTC P2P technology. All calls are encrypted by default, preventing third-party access, even if you really wanted to.
How it works
Sign in with Apple or Google. Create a simple profile (name and, optionally, an avatar). Invite a friend to Trubka and share your extension number with them. That's it, you can start calling. Call time is unlimited; all you need is a stable internet connection. If you're using Wi-Fi, calls are essentially free. On a mobile network, your carrier may charge you for data usage, although the app's data consumption is negligible. If you're roaming, it's best to use Wi-Fi.
Important
Calls are only possible within the app between added contacts. Calls to regular phone numbers are not supported.
Requirements
An internet connection and permission to use the microphone for voice calls, and access to the camera for video calls.
