xCanvas is a tattoo lettering design app for creating text-based tattoo concepts, name designs, quote layouts and custom word art.

Preview tattoo lettering concepts
Try names, quotes and phrases in a wide range of tattoo lettering styles, including Gothic, script, blackletter, fine-line, Chicano, Old English and single-line styles. Adjust spacing, slant, scale, shadows, outlines, glow, metallic finishes and 3D effects to explore different looks on a flexible canvas.

Place lettering on photos
Import a reference photo and layer text over skin, backgrounds or existing design ideas. Curve lettering for areas such as the forearm, rib, ankle, collarbone or back, then adjust position, size and rotation to preview placement.

Build tattoo-style compositions

Ratings and reviews

Love this app, but this new format for the app is not my cup of tea. I can no longer change fonts on the fly. It greatly impedes my ability to find the right font for my projects. Plus saved images now have water marks, rendering this app essentially useless. It would otherwise be a five star app but now I guess I'll sadly find a different one now and there is no apparent option to get rid of these marks.

This was the best font app to use for all of my work. Now, the update ruined it. You cannot adjust the size of the font, all the options presented were on one screen beneath the text prompt originally, now you have to slide through multiple pages. The customisation has been reduced, the option to tap on what you typed to make corrections is gone. They reduced the amount of characters you can use drastically. This is a sub-par version and I'm uninstalling.

Very impressed. I've created about 10 designs and I must say that not only is the app easy to use, the possibilities are endless. I do a lot of sublimating, and personalize my designs, and I love the variety of fonts as well as the amounts of colors that can be added as well as the letter placement. This is totally customizable, and now I'm finding that I can create multiple names with different color varieties. I'm loving the app.
