About this app

Skala brings the DAB/DAB+ broadcast catalogue and hundreds of thousands of internet radio stations into one app.

HOW IT WORKS

Please read this first. Skala is not a DAB receiver. DAB/DAB+ is a terrestrial broadcast standard. A phone cannot receive it without dedicated hardware.

Skala works as a hybrid radio. The catalogue and the station details come from real DAB data: country, multiplex, service, channel, codec and bitrate. The audio comes from the internet stream of the same station. So you can find a DAB service from another country, read its details, and listen to it when it also streams online.

THE DIAL

The interface follows the design of hi-fi tuners from the 1970s. It has a lit scale, a VU meter, indicator lamps, a 10-band equaliser and presets.

21 VISUALISERS

Spectrum, oscilloscope, waterfall, goniometer, LED bars, plasma, tunnel, starfield, kaleidoscope, terrain, fire, rain, fountain, dancers and landscape are among them. Each one is drawn in real time from the audio you are listening to.

PERSONAL

• Save your favourite stations
• Record what you are listening to. Recordings stay on your device.
• Create several profiles. Everyone who shares the device gets separate lists, and each profile can have its own password.
• Nine interface languages: Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Indonesian and Vietnamese

PRIVACY

• An account needs only a profile name that you choose
• We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or location
• There are no advertisements, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics
• Your recordings never leave your device
• You can delete your profile and all of your data at any time
