About this app

Windtrack doesn't just show the forecast. For the date you choose, it tracks how the forecast changes over time, analyses it, compares it with past years and presents it as a clear report.

Other apps show only the latest forecast. You look weeks ahead, see "Saturday 25 knots, let's cancel", and Saturday arrives with a flat calm sea. Windtrack queries five global models four times a day for the point and time you choose, and never deletes an update. You see which way the forecast is drifting and whether the models are coming together. A narrowing spread between models is a far stronger sign of confidence than wind speed alone.

NEW — HOME SCREEN WIDGET AND WEAR OS (Premium)

The home screen widget (small, medium and large) and the Wear OS watch app with its Tile and complication show your tracked point's average wind, direction and gusts at a glance. The widget refreshes when you open the app and about every half hour. The watch app gets its data through the Windtrack app on your phone.

- Historical context: for points within POSEIDON coverage, a comparison with the same date window over the past five years — is this wind normal or unusual?
- High resolution: for points in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, the 5 km Greek POSEIDON model comes in three days before the target
- Observed: follow live measurements from observation stations to see whether the forecast held; the station's distance in miles is always shown
