Poorly designed app that will sometimes freeze when trying to unlock the door. Collects way too much private info, to "help the hostel identify you," but that doesn't make sense as hostels check your id when you check in. App also requires location service, but since Bluetooth has a limited range this also doesn't make much sense to me. Company also has a poor privacy policy which states that they aren't responsible for your personal info. It's a shame hostels use these locks.

Awful app. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. I never wanted to use it in the first place, but it turned out the hostel I was trying to book required me to download it in order to complete my book. I spent 20 minutes or more entering the same information again and again, checking and verifiaction emails, uploading a picture, downloading multiple times and I have yet to be allowed to finish my booking. I hate this app.

Hi WIlliam, sorry to hear that. Goki is free and optional - we also issue a unique PIN to every guest. You don't need Goki to complete your booking - only to receive your smartkey. The onboarding experience is less than 60 seconds and only needs to be done once. You only need to download the app once. Feel free to reach out to support@goki.travel

I'm not even travelling yet, but already annoyed with the app. The developers seem to forgot a few things. For example, when you receive the confirmation from your hotel, you might open it on a desktop computer or a laptop. At least, have a warning, that the web version sucks, download the app before you want to check in. When I am filling out my details, it's a bit odd that I had to click through 10 years in the calendar to set my passport expiry, as there's no way to set the year separately.
