About this app

DailyTravel is an app designed by Westat to collect travel information for transportation studies. This information includes the location of places visited by participants along with details that explain the why, how, and when of travel to these places.

Transportation planners will use information collected from this study to develop forecasts of future travel in your city, region, and state. A number of households have been randomly selected to participate and represent households in the entire region. Only selected households have been provided a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and are able to use the DailyTravel app. The information that your household and other households in the survey provide will help build a complete and accurate picture of state and local transportation needs so that public funds for improvements can be spent where they are needed most.

I am trying to use it for the survey, but I keep having to turn the location back on, even though I am not turning it off, and it is difficult to set the times for departure and arrival, they also reset themselve, and not being able to set future times is also frustrating. When I am going about my day it is too easy to miss the times I arrive and depart from my destinations. I wish I could figure it out. It is a cool idea. Props to the devs, regardless.

Drains my battery with in half the day when just sitting in the background. The GPS location part sucks, does not even track and when it does it thinks I stopped in the middle of the highway. I have to manually input all the information and that part is very difficult to do, especially when you have to figure out how to remove location stops that did not even exist. Hard to have accurate data when the App does not work properly.

Not a very efficient app. It requires permission to track your location in order to record your travel, which it does not do very efficiently. It records pretty much every stop as a destination stop. For example: traffic stall, road construction stop, or lengthy traffic light stop. It plots every stop on a map. However, you are required to vet every stop as a destination or not, and if a destination, enter the name of the location. Based on its plot of a stop on a map, it should be able to do t
