This application includes movies and television series that predate the 16:9 widescreen format which is adopted by contemporary filmmakers and used for HD video. Older content was formatted to use a 4:3 aspect ratio, which can only be displayed with black bars on any 16:9 screen.

The black bars are intentional and improve the end user experience. Removing the black bars would cause videos to either scale or crop inappropriately, resulting in the loss of important visual information.

Vertical black bars are the visual standard for displaying all older movies and television on modern landscape oriented machines; black bars are used for theatrical screenings, commercial broadcast, and video on demand in the US and internationally, they are used both vertically and horizontally to display a variety of non-16:9 aspect ratios.

The black bars shows on 4:3 content cannot be removed from this application.

Nearly Real Sports SPORTLESS EXPERIENCE!!! No NFL network content, No MLB network content, No Golf network content (they could at least have European golf content!), a lot of college sports missing, most wrestling content missing, no college baseball or college wrestling content anywhere here! No bobsledding on the ski network, app is slow, On Demand keeps crashing before you even see what they are offering. When you scan channels, app asks you each time do you want to watch now??? Poor

This sports app is an awesome alternative to ESPN and other paid cable and streaming services. I love it a lot for sports fans to enjoy.
