With informed consent, you can selectively disclose information through the Digital Credentials Wallet, revealing only your birthday, but not other personal information, ensuring your privacy and flexibility while immediately enhancing security and trust.

As a decentralized digital identity authentication and authorization system, the Digital Credentials Wallet does not store any biometric data or information on access permissions on government servers. The Ministry of Digital Development has not established any centralized database, and the overall information design stores data only on the user's device. Under this architecture, the public no longer needs to entrust large amounts of sensitive personal data to a single organization, significantly reducing the risk of a single database being compromised or misused, effectively mitigating the threats of digital surveillance, data leaks, and data misuse. Verifying personal identity through encryption technology will safeguard the secure and confidential communications of Taiwanese citizens in the digital space, aligning with constitutional principles and modern cybersecurity needs. Furthermore, it better protects information security and digital rights compared to previous centralized storage and verification methods.

The security of a digital credential wallet depends on various factors, including system design, encryption technology, and user behavior. Generally, digital credential wallets employing multi-factor authentication and biometric identification are relatively secure. However, users are still advised to regularly update their software and avoid performing sensitive operations in public Wi-Fi environments. The digital credential wallet app will utilize the GuardSquare DexGuard solution to provide protection against static analysis and dynamic analysis and real-time attacks, preventing malicious attacks on the app. This app will also pass third-party MAS testing (Level 2: with user authentication capabilities) and obtain the certification to ensure its security.
