About this app

Near is a location-based social app (LBS) that transforms campuses, train stations, and various city landmarks into "sites" that can be explored and interacted with.

When you arrive at a different site, you can enter the community space associated with that location, see what's happening nearby, chat with people in the same area, or get to know each other through various light interactions. Near aims to make the chances of "passing by" in real life more reconnectable.

In Near, you can:

・Explore nearby sites
Discover accessible real-world locations and site content based on your location.

・Join site chat rooms
Instantly chat with people in the same site, sharing your thoughts, information, and life snippets.

・Participate in site activities
Check out events and gatherings in the site, and find people to eat, chat, exercise, read, or explore the city with.

・Experience different site facilities
Each site may have different features, such as virtual cafes, radios, recording studios, data collection areas, spark rooms, and other interactive spaces.

・Meet new friends in a less stressful way
Near doesn't force you to build relationships immediately. You can start with the same location, shared interests, or brief interactions before deciding whether to pursue further communication.

• Explore cities with a worldview. In Near, real-world cities are reimagined as a post-apocalyptic network of survivors. Different sites, characters, guardians, and events will gradually appear as you explore.

Near doesn't just put people in the same chat room; it aims to make "location" itself a reason for connection between people.

You might pass by the same school building, the same station, the same coffee shop every day, yet never know what the people around you are thinking.

In Near, distance is more than just a number. It could be the start of a conversation.
