Electronic version of the Pocket Guide contains current clinical guidelines based on evidence for inpatient care for children.

Recommendations are designed for doctors, nurses and other medical staff in charge of the treatment of children. Particular attention is paid to the management of diseases of the major causes of child mortality:

• disease of the newborn, low birth weight, premature infants, sepsis, perinatal asphyxia and congenital anomalies;
• Pneumonia and other respiratory problems, such as bronchiolitis, asthma and tuberculosis
• Diarrhea, acute and protracted
• fever, including malaria, meningitis, septic fever and rheumatic fever
• Severe malnutrition
• HIV AIDS
• Surgical problems, including injuries and burns.

Electronic Annex provides guidance on the steps of conducting the sick children in the hospital: the emergency classifying evaluation procedure of examination of children, laboratory studies, supportive care and monitoring, discharge and follow-up.

This e-mail application will allow to use the recommendations in the offline mode. In addition, it has the following user-friendly features: a clickable link, search, the ability to view pictures in full size, and use formulas to calculate dosages of drugs (instead of tables used in the printed version of the manual).
