Good, but definitely NOT for beginners or anyone who isn't already used to reading in Japanese characters only. You can customize what you learn if you don't mind it being a big pain, but you can't customize how you learn it. So it's much like throwing up a bunch of info all at once, and then memorizing it by yourself. (Some say full immersion is the best way, but I learn better when I'm not constantly trying to decipher if what I think I'm learning is what is actually being taught or not.)

This is great for learning writing Japanese Kana and Kanji. It is categorized by JLPT, native school grade, and Wanakani. The spaced repetition is good. The snap to grid makes it cleaner if you're using a finger to draw. I think it's good as one of many tools. There's no audio and no vocabulary beyond single Kanji. It has readings and sample words, but as additional information. Overall, it makes it easier to learn writing Kanji than any other app I tried.

Please add the ability to manually add kanji to kanji decks. I usually only want to add one at a time, and unless I am missing something the only way is to make a new deck, select the remove option, remove every other character, and then merge the one character deck with the original. I saw something where I could type for a character, but it doesn't work with latin script and my phone doesn't support Japanese keyboards. I've tried. EDIT: I found a way. There is a copy button. I did miss it!
