The completely redesigned Period of PURPLE Crying app has a brand new expanded library of child development topics related to infant crying, soothing, sleeping and coping with frustration. There is also an all new “Baby Tracker” that allows parents to track everything from baby’s feedings and diaper changes to growth and even crying. The Baby Tracker is a great way to record and watch your baby’s development.

The newly redesigned Period of PURPLE Crying app contains a vast new library of research based articles and videos about important child development topics that parents often find frustrating, namely; infant crying, sleeping, soothing, and coping with frustration. Additionally, the app includes the full length Period of PURPLE Crying video and Crying, Soothing and Coping: Doing What Comes Naturally video.
The new “Baby Tracker” in the Period of PURPLE Crying app gives parents and caregivers the ability to record and track a variety of important items related to their baby’s development including:
feeding,
sleeping,
crying,
diaper changes,
breast pumping, and
growth.
The new tracker is an informative and helpful way for families to monitor their baby’s daily activity and also see how the baby is changing over time.
The Period of PURPLE Crying is an evidence-based program designed to help parents and caregivers better understand and recognize normal infant crying, ways to soothe a crying baby, safe sleep and managing sleep issues, and coping with frustration. The Period of PURPLE Crying is a program of the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome (NCSBS) co-developed with Dr. Ronald G. Barr, a renowned developmental pediatrician and researcher who has done more research on infant crying than anyone else in the world.
The Period of PURPLE Crying app is provided to parents following the birth of a new baby in a growing number of hospitals, home visiting programs, US military services, pediatric practices and public health offices. Ask your nurse or healthcare professional if they provide the Period of PURPLE Crying and for your complimentary activation code. Ratings and reviews

I love this app. Educational and you can record all the babies feeds, diaper changes, crying spells and more in one spot! Which makes it easy to reference for the pediatrician at check ups. The down fall, if you have a baby late in the year it calculates the age incorrectly. I had LO on December and the app is saying she's 1 year and so many days old. She's only a month old! Aside from that, this app is awesome.

I'm sure the app would be great if it would work. Downloaded it, put in the activation code, and it never loaded, just an endless spinning circle. I guess they need funding to pay the app developers to fix the bug!

I love the idea, but the app needs some additional tweeking. The timer should continue even if the phone gets turned off, and you should be able to manually input the time on the breastfeeding tab. Its just gotten messed up a few times and then I feel like it defeats the purpose if the information is not complete.
