The Brennan can be controlled from any Android on the same wifi network. The app will allow you to control and search music on your Brennan

The Brennan B2 is a hard disk hi-fi that can be controlled from the Brennan app. This app simply searches for a Brennan B2 or BB1 on your home network and shows an overview of what's playing - allow you to search music and control it right from the app.

Features of app include:

- Brennan Discover, automatically searching your network to discover Brennan B2 and/or BB1
- Overview of what's playing on your Brennan
- Media control - Play/Pause, Next and Previous Track, Random and Mute, Volume Control
- Play your media to Sonos speakers on your network
- Search and browse your Brennan

- YouTube for Brennan speakers
- Shortcut to Web UI

The app usually finds the Brennan within a second or two then disappears. This saves you having to type in the IP address of the Brennan B2 or BB1 and gives you one touch access to your Brennan from your phone or tablet. This can be even more useful if you have a wireless router that often changes the IP address assigned to the Brennan.

Finally loaded my CDs in the wifi B2, made optical connection to the receiver thru a cheap DAC, and downloaded the app to my Android phone. Connected right away, and working fine. I had no sound the other day. Pulled and reset all connections and it started playing. I really like how it randomly chooses the next CD. I'm liking the surprise that's in my collection. As someone who isn't particularly tech savvy, this was completely simple to set up and use. Setting up the WiFi and then synchronising my phone took literally 30 seconds. The only thing that is currently annoying me is that I have a lot of unknown albums (at least 1000) and using the app to play them is fine but then having to use the remote to rename them all is currently taking an age. It would be easier on my phone but don't think that's possible unfortunately. Excellent otherwise.

Edit after a month or so - the app is dreadful. Every time I pick up my phone i have to search for the Brennan afresh on my network. As I type I'm playing via Bluetooth because I've given up! Love my Brennan B2 and being able to control it from my phone. Some ideas for development- I'd like the app to be able to scroll through the music to be played next, have a feature to encue the next track(s). Also when going back to the search page it would be good to see the results of the last search.
