Handles large files gracefully

Most mobile editors give up on anything bigger than a few megabytes. Just a Text Editor opens files up to 10 MB with everything on — full editing, syntax highlighting, undo, and search. It keeps editing and undo working on much larger files, with syntax highlighting available on demand, and switches to a lightweight read-only mode for the truly huge ones. Whatever's active is clearly flagged so you always know what you're working with.

Reliable with your files

• Crash-safe saves — every write goes through an atomic temp-and-rename, so a power loss or crash mid-save can never corrupt your file
• Detects and preserves file encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16, etc.) and line endings (LF/CRLF) — files round-trip cleanly

Clean by design

• Light and dark theme (follows your system setting, or override)
• JetBrains Mono bundled, plus system monospace and custom font loading
• Pinch-to-zoom, and full respect for your system accessibility font size
• Per-language overrides for word wrap, indentation style, and tab width — with sensible defaults out of the box (4 spaces for Python, 2 for JavaScript, wrap on for Markdown, off for code, and so on)

• No INTERNET permission — the app literally cannot connect to the network

What’s new

◆ Fixed — opening a file from another app could land on the
wrong tab, duplicate it, or discard unsaved edits in another
tab.

◆ Fixed — undo could stop recording your edits, or crash on
files with unusual line endings.

◆ Fixed — the View menu now says when a per-language setting is
supplying a value, instead of looking like your settings reset.

◆ Known issue — undo is unavailable in a new Untitled tab until
you save it. Undo works normally in any saved file.
