About this app

Echo is a simple audio recorder with instant playback. Now with optional echo voice effect. To make a recording just hold the record button, release it and hear it played back.

Once you've made a recording you can play it back as much as you'd like. Hit replay while a recording is already playing and it will be played again over the top. You can also record while playing, or play while recording. Sonic chaos is guaranteed.

Echo's not just for fun, it's designed to be the quickest and easiest way to hear yourself. It's a mirror for sound: use it to practice speaking a foreign language, voice training, playing music, or giving a speech. Or just have fun recording your friends.

Best of all, Echo is completely ad-free, so you can use it without distraction.

Please note:
* You can now save externally - this is available from the Recordings screen which you can access through the menu. (To save a recording to this screen, simply tap the blue star at the top of the screen after making the recording.)

* Recordings are saved as uncompressed audio - this means they have great sound quality, but the files can be large. (Technically, Echo records 16 bit, 44.1 KHz PCM mono audio - storing 1 minute of audio uses 5.29MB.)

* Sharing of externally saved files is possible (e.g. by attaching to email, messaging apps etc) - we'll be adding sharing directly from the app soon.

Just what I needed for language learning. Instant replay and no stupid "want to save your file?" garbage message after every button press. Instant replay and instant delete is exactly what you need for these types of activities, people! I DO NOT understand the low-star reviews here that demand a "save recording" function, it would be counter-productive! Overall: Very good, highly enjoyed.

I am using the Echo app (Version 3.0.1) on a Realme 12x 5G running Android 16. The app records audio successfully, but after I stop recording, the recording is not saved. The "Recordings" list remains empty, and no error message is shown. I have already updated the app to the latest version, restarted my phone, and checked the permissions, but the issue still persists. Could you please help me fix this problem? Thank you.

Hi, I think you just need to tap the blue star at the top of the screen after making a recording. That flags that you want to keep that recording, at which point it should show up in the Recordings screen. Hope that helps!

The app was working fine before, and I used the star button to save recordings easily. Now the star/save option has disappeared completely after the recent update. Recording still works, but there is no clear way to save or favorite recordings anymore. Please bring back the old save feature or make it easier to find. Otherwise, the app experience has become confusing.

What’s new

Saving externally is fixed at last! A thousand apologies to anyone caught out by this, but saving externally has been restored and now allows you to select where the exported audio file should be saved.

More fixes to follow. We'd love your feedback: projectneondev@gmail.com
