# Description

If you're looking for a graphing calculator app that works smoothly and seamlessly, you've found it! Graphing Calculator by Mathlab is a scientific graphing calculator integrated with algebra and is an indispensable mathematical tool for students in elementary school to those in college or graduate school, or just anyone who needs more than what a basic calculator offers. It is designed to replace bulky and costly handheld graphing calculators and works on virtually any Android phone or tablet.

Furthermore, Graphing Calculator by Mathlab displays calculations as it performs them on the high-quality display of the Android device, making it easier for the user to understand the calculations and see them clearly. This app has two great strengths. First, it acts as a fine scientific calculator, but, more than that, it displays the intermediate steps of the calculations as you type. It allows the students to both watch and learn how the calculations are made and how to find the final answer. Second, the graphing ability is absolutely stunning! Not only does the calculator beautifully display the graphs, but it automatically generates the x- and y- values and displays them as well.

Great graphing calculator. Takes a little getting used to, but after a few uses you will be flying. Amazing help for trig and other courses over a traditional graphing calculator.

Jessica Isabella Harrison

Perfect for people going back to school While this is NOT a graphing calculator, or a fractions calculator, it is an absolutely awesome algebra calculator. Its been awhile since I have been in school, and I just started going to college, and this has helped me with algebra so much since we are allowed to use calculators in class. Best part aside from it actually works, it is free and accurate! I haven't had any issues with it rebooting, shutting down or freezing either.

Eren Jaeger

Love it I love the app but one thing. If I need the answer for scientific notation in scientific notation how do I get the calculator to show it in scientific notation? Other than that it's a great help 😺

anthony babida

Love the app!!!! But i do wish there was an actual greater then or equal to button im sorry but you should just have one and im lazy...love the app tho👌👍

Vale.Rossi 46

Awesome Calculator It's powerful machine to solve problem, even though not all function can be solved, but it looks like a portable Matlab running in your phone. I love it

Reuben Bellotte

Awesome! This app has helped in ways my teacher never came close too! I would type in the equation and this app would spit out the answer almost every time. Then as I worked through the problem step by step the app would let me know if I was right or wrong. Love this app, an amazing teaching tool.

User reviews

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 17, 2015

Hi Jessica :) We're glad you like the app. It has 4 modes: (1) Calc, (2) Graph, (3) Table, and (4) Library. Look at how to switch to the Graph mode: http://s23.postimg.org/6bigffre3/How_to_Graph.png First, click on the upper-left button, then choose "Graph". Look at help: http://help.mathlab.us Here is the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=doIYR6hUCpg Mathlab Apps, LLC April 14, 2015

Look at the picture how to change the format of numbers to see scientific notation: http://s2.postimg.org/e0lzk53q1/Number_Notation_Format.png Mathlab Apps, LLC April 8, 2015

Hi Anthony :) We are glad you like the app :) The screen of many cellphones is very small, so we must economize space. It is why you are supposed to click 2 buttons: (1) greater then, (2) and then equal. Many people complain that buttons are small for their fingers. So, to make 1 button instead of these 2 does not seem optimal. Mathlab Apps, LLC April 14, 2015

We are glad you like it :) Actually, it is a calculator, not a solver. It solves some, but to solve is not its mission, it is just a bonus. Almost! Everything overall is good but when I did Sin 72 it gave me 0.25 and some when its suppose to be 0.9511 can you check on that

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 27, 2015

By default, the calculator counts in Radians, unless it sees the Degree sign "°". So you may enter some functions in Radians (e.g. sin 72=0.2538) and other functions in Degrees (e.g. sin 72°=0.9511) on the same row. Use Settings to switch from Radians and Degrees and vice versa: http://s14.postimg.org/5e6w4bwk1/D_R.png Mathlab Apps, LLC April 20, 2015

Enter polar graph as first graph, then you can touch r-axis and rotate it to show coordinates. Look at the picture: http://s16.postimg.org/6f22wf79h/Polar.png The tracing line shows both r and theta. For the current point r=-0.259 and theta=195° Clever calculator This app has most of the functions I am used to on a regular graphing calculator. The input could be improved, though, and you need Internet to use it, which annoys me.

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 8, 2015

The PRO version of the app works offline and free from advertising. You may buy a PRO version to support our hard work to develop the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.mathlab.android.calc.edu Very good, but... This app has helped me in a pinch when I didn't have a calculator in class more than once, but it has a serious shortcoming in that it doesn't do integrals/derivatives in the calculations section.

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 16, 2015

The app does everything that is promised in the description. We share what we have. It does not count integrals, statistics and limits yet, but it counts derivatives: http://help.mathlab.us/211-derivatives.html Loving the Library! Everything seems to be perfect so far. The one thing I'm having trouble with is graphing a piecewise function. Any ideas on how that would be done?

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 16, 2015

We have not implemented to graph a piecewise function yet. Mathlab Apps, LLC April 10, 2015

The app does everything that is promised in the description. We share what we have. Good but I'm confused about how to plot points, such as when I do (-145,1140) (-130,1020) it's shows (-,145?,?1140) (-,130?,?1020) and won't solve or plot the points

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 18, 2015

For 2D scatter plots, enter coordinates in square brackets [-145 1140 -130 1020] For example: http://s18.postimg.org/pdyt2u2e1/dots.png Select checkbox to show the linear regression: http://s17.postimg.org/6z8dquprz/Linear_Regression.png You can plot more than 2 points, of course :)
wtf? ive been looking for a really nice graphing calculator, and i thought i found it but its broken. it cant do square rooted values, and i dont even how what happens when i give it absolute values. great program, bad math

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 25, 2015

Here is an example to count the square rooted value of 4. The second example counts the square rooted value of the complex number (-4): http://s9.postimg.org/gfpf1jh5r/SRV.png If you are not sure how to enter some formula, look at the examples from the User Manual: http://help.mathlab.us Why it will not give correct values for several equations ((Sinx)/x)^2 it will not give me correct values for the second maxima

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 15, 2015

By default, the calculator counts in Radians. Look at the picture how to switch from Radians to Degrees: http://s11.postimg.org/ogq9r67ir/D_R.png Please send us to calc@mathlab.us what formula you entered to find the second maxima. We'll find the right answer together :) Great Graphing Tool I wish there was support for matrices as well as sums and I'd give 5 stars for sure

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 24, 2015

The app operates with matrices, look at the examples with screenshots in the Chapter 5. Matrices and Vectors of the User Manual: http://help.mathlab.us/5-matrices-and-vectors.html It was really helpful except for a problem with supplementary angle's sine where not showing as equal. Fix that and it is perfect. I put sine 120 equals sine 60 and it said false.

Mathlab Apps, LLC January 21, 2015

Hi Austin :) Thank you for your input. I tried a few examples to compare the sine of the angle with its supplementary angle sine, and both sines are equal: http://s17.postimg.org/fi2qivfdr/angle.png Could you please share your examples? What did you enter? Our email is calc@mathlab.us So far, so good. This app is unbelievably great for its price. Hands down, it is the best calculator app I have ever used. I've only been using it for a couple of days, but I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, versatile calculator. If only my professors would let me use it on exams!

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 18, 2015

(1) The inverse function for sin is arcsin. Touch and hold sin to enter arcsin. (2) The inverse function for cos is arccos. Touch and hold cos to enter arccos. (3) The inverse function for tan is arctan. Touch and hold tan to enter arctan. Look at the video how to use keyboard to enter arcsin, arccos, arctan etc.: http://youtu.be/ceiUrwa4WGI Very good, but takes some getting used to... It works extremely well and does what it is supposed to quickly, but the keys are sometimes a little bit of a challenge to find.

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 25, 2015

Quick Help: http://s12.postimg.org/t9ffg9z6l/3_K.png Look at 3 screenshots. First Screen: click on the icon with a question mark inside of the circle. Second Screen: you'll see the text of the Quick Help. Roll down to see the Third Screen with the Keyboard Map. Find the needed function and which button to push and hold. Also: http://help.mathlab.us Good aid to my calculus studies! Took me a little bit to figure out how to graph but it was worth it.

Mathlab Apps, LLC March 26, 2015

Look at the video (6'37"-7'30") how to graph: www.youtube.com/watch?v=doIYR6hUCpg Also look at the Chapter 4 "Graphing functions" of the User Manual: http://help.mathlab.us Thumps up Works good, no complaints, gets the job done and very easy to use. Is there a way i can put more then one graph on a single page? If not, that would be a very helpful addition.

Mathlab Apps, LLC April 16, 2015

Yes, you can plot many graphs on the same screen. Click after every function to start entering the new function. Video (8 min) how to use the app: www.youtube.com/watch?v=doIYR6hUCpg User Manual online: http://help.mathlab.us The PDF of User Manual offline: http://help.mathlab.us/uploads/1/4/4/1/14418664/graphing_calculator_by_mathlab.pdf # What's New

FAQ:

* If you want data size conversions in multiples of 1024, use kibibytes, mebibytes, gibibytes, etc - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibibyte.

* If you can't find HEX, BIN or OCT modes, go to Menu > Settings and make sure that 'Radix Modes' is checked.

* If the percent key appears to give wrong answers, make sure you are pressing '=' at the end, e.g. '25 + 10 % =' will give 27.5.

* If sin/cos/tan functions don't give the answer you are expecting, make sure you are in the correct angle mode. Degrees, radians and grads are supported, indicated by DEG, RAD, GRAD in the display. Use the DRG key to change mode.

* If any of the digit keys are disabled, or the decimal point doesn't work, or you have answers with letters in, or basic arithmetic appears to be wrong, then you are in binary, octal or hexadecimal mode. Press DEC to return to decimal operation. If you don't need these modes, please make sure that 'Radix Modes' is disabled in the settings.

Please read the help for more information.
