This app worked well. The line at JFK turned out to be the diplomat line and they let us cut the line. ALSO the scanner wouldnt work for me but the customs agent could do it in a flash, looks he put it way closer to the top of the scanner off the window. Worked great no lines and i felt like a king!
Heard about this app right after landing from an international flight. It's a small sized app (about 12 mb) and downloaded pretty quickly while we deplaned. The process to register took less than five minutes and was very user friendly. Thankfully, the airport we were in had signs for mobile passport so we breezed by a massive line and were in baggage claim in less than ten minutes. My cousin had issues downloading (not sure why) and had to wait in the customs line with paper instead of mobile and we ended up waiting at least 15 minutes for her to catch up to us. Great app, very convenient hidden gem that needs more advertising. Thank you!
No doubt, going digital is great. No need to look for a pen to fill out the custom form not to mention we keep more trees around. Only problem I found was that in customs they had one line for the app users while they has several for others. I guess this will change as more users use the app, other than that, it's great.
It was amazing. After a long flight standing in a long line is the last thing you want to do. I breezed through customs in about 5 min. The longest part was downloading the app and filling in the info which took about 10 min, but the regular lines seemed to barely move. All in all great experience.
The app would have been great, however, there was not an agent in the app line. So all the app users were forced to wait until the regular line was completely empty. Essentially having is wait twice as long as if we had just filled out the form the usual way. Went from being a time saver to a massive time suck.
It was great to breeze through the lines at LAX after a long flight. However it was hard to find the mobile passport lines as they were not well marked (they might have been longer if they were). Also the QRCode/ bar code readers at LAX didn't work very well. The readers at Amsterdam SMS airport worked much better, they use cellphone QRCode readers for the whole check in process & they work great.
