About this app

Bip Auto is an app for the Android head unit in your car. It reads the mileage by itself and sends it to your Bip account, so oil, filter and other service intervals are counted from the real figure — no more copying the odometer by hand.

HOW TO CONNECT
• Open Bip Auto on the head unit — a QR code appears.
• Scan it with the Bip app on your phone or the regular camera, pick the car and tap Connect. Nothing to type on the head unit.

WHERE THE MILEAGE COMES FROM
After installing, the app tests three methods and shows which one works:
• Car system — the odometer figure on BYD and Android Automotive.
• OBD adapter — a Bluetooth ELM327 paired with the head unit.
• GPS — on any head unit: the distance driven is added to the starting mileage.
You switch on the one that works, and data is sent from it.

WORKS OFFLINE TOO
If the head unit drives without internet, readings are stored and sent as soon as the phone hotspot or Wi-Fi connects.

PRIVACY
• Only the mileage figure goes to the server. Your location (coordinates) NEVER leaves the head unit — GPS is used only to count distance.
• Only the car's owner can connect a head unit.

Bip Auto works together with the Bip app (for drivers).
