Khatt teaches you to write Arabic by hand, one stroke at a time, in short lessons that feel like a game. Follow a path through the alphabet: meet each letter, trace it stroke by stroke, recognise it, copy it, then write it from memory. Khatt checks your writing the way a teacher would: shape, stroke direction, stroke order, dots and proportions.
LEARN ON A PATH
• Units grouped by shape family (ب ت ث, then ن ي, then ج ح خ…), so each lesson builds on strokes you already know.
• Lessons of about ten quick exercises: a new letter, guided tracing, pick-the-letter, listening, match-the-pairs, copying and writing from memory.
• Exercises you miss come back at the end of the lesson.
• XP, combos, a daily XP goal, streaks and a celebration when you finish a lesson.
TRACE STROKE BY STROKE
• Each stroke is checked the moment you lift your finger. A good stroke snaps into place; a wrong one shakes off and the stroke is shown again.
• Dots are just a tap.
• Animated stroke order: ink fills the real letter in pen order, with a numbered start point and an arrow for the next stroke.
SEE YOUR MISTAKES MOVE
• After you check, your writing slides onto the correct letter, so you can see how far each part was from where it belongs.
• Missed strokes are drawn in gold, strokes written backwards get arrows the right way, and your attempt stays behind as a faint ghost to compare.
• A score from 0 to 100 with stars, and a clear note on what to fix: missing dots, wrong direction, stroke order, stray strokes or stretched proportions.
EVERY LETTER, EVERY FORM
• All 28 letters plus hamza and its seats (أ إ آ ؤ ئ), tāʾ marbūṭa and alif maqṣūra: 36 in total.
• Each letter in all four positional forms: isolated, initial, medial and final.
• The sound of each letter, a writing tip and example words.
• Spaced repetition brings letters back just before you would forget them.
WORDS AND VOWEL MARKS
• About 40 everyday words and phrases in themed groups, such as greetings and family.
• Type any Arabic word and practise it. Letters join correctly, including the lām-alif ligature.
• Vowel marks: fatḥa, kasra, ḍamma, sukūn, shadda and tanwīn.
A CALLIGRAPHY PRACTICE SHEET
• Paper, ruled lines and a column of dots that measures the alif's height.
• Calligraphy-nib or round pen, in four ink colours.
• Stylus-only mode with palm rejection, adjustable strictness, light and dark themes.
• Letter names and words read aloud with your device's Arabic text-to-speech voice, when one is installed.
SEE YOUR PROGRESS
• A chart of the alphabet that lights up as you learn, and a mastery map of every letter.
• Streak, daily XP and a 14-day activity chart.
• "Then and now": your first attempt next to your best.
