Hitchr is about travelling slower, connecting with people and making the journey matter.

We're here to help the world re-discover hitchhiking. With Hitchr, you can plan your next hitchhiking trip, record your route for every journey and share your progress in real time with your friends and family. We say forgo the flight, experience authentic local encounters and make the journey part of the journey.

Whether you are new to hitchhiking or have years of stories under your thumb, Hitchr helps you to travel with confidence and purpose.

Here’s what you can expect from Hitchr today:
■ Find recommended pick-up points from other hitchhikers (via Hitchmap!)
■ Track each ride and save your route maps
■ Add notes, photos and more to remember each ride
■ View your lifetime hitchhiking stats
■ Compete in our tracked hitchhiking events

We're still in the early stages, but here's what's coming soon:
■ Add your own reviews and insights back to the hitchhiking map
■ Share your rides with trusted friends, family and people you've met along the way
■ Use Hitchr when you don't have data (offline mode!)

What’s new

Auto-detect when you get in a car
Hitchr can now automatically detect when you've started a ride. This feature is currently in testing, so you'll need to enable it manually in Settings.

Performance improvements and bug fixes
We've fixed a number of bugs and made improvements behind the scenes to support upcoming features, including ride sharing, licence plate capture and route planning.
