I was told that an update would solve the problem of the previous version where one could not delete routes held on an sd card. This new version initially made the situation worse but after contacting Mapix for support all is now fixed and working well. Support was friendly and effective so this app rating is restored in my view.
I'm a great fan of Quo2 and thought that version 1.0.7 of MX Map Mobile was equally very good. Did exactly what it said on the tin. Then version 1.1.0 came along and everything changed. The icons changed and it no longer tracks my movements, in fact it is now virtually unusable. I apologise for voicing this in public, but if there had been some replies to my emails I wouldn't have needed to. Please sort it out!
If you have Quo on your PC the app is useful addition to put maps and tracking on your phone. If you don't have the PC software then I'd recommend looking elsewhere. I also use viewranger and outdoorsgb and both are much better and crash less. The latest update has broken 3/4 of this apps limited features, now it's just a map, literally.
This was app great until Jan 2017 upgrade. Now I can't record a track, or delete a previously recorded track. I am very disappointed.
Just about had this working until v1.1.0 and now it doesn't! Email dialogue with support got me as far as sync'ing the maps but getting a fix of position is hit and miss as to whether it will centre the map on my location. And to make it worse, it won't record a track. Sadly the support emails have dried up, had nothing for four days.
With a bit of help from technical support I succeeded in getting all the OS GB maps (25k, 50k, 250k) working on my phone and tablet. Fortunately I worked out how to do this without multiple downloads from the internet which would have pushed me past my monthly broadband allowance. Having found out how to record tracks and lock the screen on the current position, this allows a constant view of a map on the car dashboard (without needing to touch the phone) - an impovement to the tracking would be to show an arrow in the direction of movement, rather than just show the current position. Other things that could be improved: i) speed of loading - takes quite a few seconds to show maps after launch (admittedly I have a lot of maps loaded!) ii) shut-off of GPS after exit - the GPS is sometimes left running after exiting the App and if I did not manually shut it down this would run the battery down quickly. iii) Sometimes the App sticks on checking sync on opening - I think this is when there is a poor mobile signal. I don't see any need to check synch on opening, as this is an activity that only needs to be done by request
