About this app

Generocity was born from a simple frustration: wanting to give small change to the everyday heroes in our communities, but no longer carrying cash.

We know that technology can sometimes feel complicated. As a busy person, you should not have to work through endless steps just to make a small donation.

That is why we created Generocity.

Giving should be as seamless as paying for your groceries at the till. Scan the car guard’s Generocity Code, choose an amount and confirm. One tap, job done.

GIVING MADE EFFORTLESS

Once registered, Generocity allows you to make multiple small digital donations throughout your day—quickly, safely and without having to repeat a lengthy payment process each time.

Every cent you donate goes to the recipient.

You pay a small Generocity Fee separately. This helps cover the platform and payment costs on behalf of recipients, ensuring that the full value of your donation reaches the person you intended to support.

MORE VALUE FOR RECIPIENTS

Participating car guards can use the same Generocity app to:

• Receive digital donations
• Save money in their Generocity wallet
• Purchase groceries and selected services
• Withdraw cash when needed

Generocity was created by a team of South African engineers with experience developing technology and products for major international organisations.

We are supported by South African philanthropists who share our belief that digital giving should be simple for donors and fair for recipients.

TRUSTED PAYMENT INFRASTRUCTURE

Generocity runs on payment infrastructure provided by Omnea (Pty) Ltd, an established South African payments and financial infrastructure provider.

Omnea’s payment infrastructure is sponsored and enabled through Absa Bank and operates under the oversight of Automated Outsourcing Services (Pty) Ltd, an authorised Financial Services Provider, FSP No. 650.
