Mzanzi kids is a multilingual pre-literacy language learning App for children between the ages of 2 to 6 years old. It is designed to stimulate visual, and language literacy skills at an early age by understanding basic everyday concepts and highlighting the correct pronunciation of speech in six different South African languages; English, Afrikaans, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sepedi and Setswana.

The integration of images and phonetics provides a good foundation for children to learn and speak in their mother tongue or home language with confidence and fluency, but most importantly comprehend and appreciate the diversity of languages used by South Africans. This multilingual App provides a good introduction before entering a schooling environment and offers a playful and fun way of learning languages using technology.

Best app I've come across thus far for learning Isixhosa (other SA language). Clear voice, images makes it attractive and easy for kids to relate (& for Adults learning as a 2nd/3rd language), learning of basic words not long phrases, easy to operate the app., good for home schooling. Thank you to the creators

The pronounciation is off for Setswana. It was funny how it translated 'arms' to weapons instead of the body part itself. Overall, it doesn't fully incorporate the changes in the accents across the different languages. I guess it's the thought that counts

I hate that I cant select language and fix it at that. Instead my child is expected to answer a multiple choice question each time before the language of choice opens. Which he cant, he's 4! Please fix this. Content also very limited.
