DATA SOURCES
Data used within the AfricaWeather app is sourced from a number of data sources including observations from Airports and forecasts generated by industry leading forecast ensembles that use all major global weather models to produce the most accurate forecast available. Storm information is generated from lightning activity detected through our own high resolution lightning detection network.

Ratings and reviews

This used to be my goto for weather around SA, but the latest couple of updates have completely broken it. I used to be able to add smaller towns, but that capability has disappeared. Now I only get options for towns in Aus and NZ. Widget is also not working correctly. Seriously trying to find an alternative, but would prefer to stick with a local app.

App is more stable and works. Location detail is missing. There are multiple Waverley 's in South Africa, but they appear at provincial level, not city level so it is hard to differentiate. Also recently I have getting alerts that the current ongoing storm will stop in the next 5 minutes... what storm? It has not rained in weeks... the sky had no clouds..

After paying premium rate to get the info I wanted (as stated) i could just have well relied on the weather on Samsung daily. The storm tracker is not good at all, the daily weather notification appears on topbar and if you want to read it (open it) it opens the app and NO info. Doesnt warn you of storms and hail as promised.
