ZeroPadding is a file renamer for adding leading zeros to numbers in filenames.
Choose a folder, review the preview, and batch rename files so they sort in numeric order in apps that still sort alphabetically.
Features:
- Preview renamed filenames before you apply changes
- Add zero padding while keeping the original file extension
- Use automatic width based on the longest number in the folder
- Set a fixed width from 1 to 18 digits when you need a strict format
- Apply padding to all number groups, only the leading number group, or only the trailing number group
- Undo the last rename in the current folder
- Optionally show unchanged files, hidden files, and hidden folders
Good for:
- photo sets, scans, comics, manga, documents, and audio files
- folders such as 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 10.jpg that need 001.jpg, 002.jpg, 010.jpg
- file managers, media players, and older apps that do not use natural numeric sort
Notes:
- Android limits direct access to some shared-storage folders, so you may need to pick a subfolder
- Renaming files can affect other apps or workflows, so always review the preview before you execute
