【2021 CSAT perfect score story】

In June 2019, the dictionary app was refurbished and paid to improve so that there are no ads that interfere with studying. With this opportunity, we opened a group chat room to directly hear the opinions of high school students. It was on July 20, 2019, that a chat room was formed by inviting five sophomore students (Jungmin Woo, Heesung Kim, Hwanhee Cho, Seunghwan Oh, Jihoon Kim) with the help of an acquaintance Chung Eui-won, a Chinese teacher at Yongin Foreign Language High School.

We mainly discussed the smart learning (SAL Program) of the dictionary app. I will serve as the chairperson who also serves as a mentor, ‘Why Korean is easy, but Korean is difficult’, Wittgenstein’s famous quote “The limits of your language are the limits of your world.” We had passionate discussions from various angles on various issues related to translation.

In order not to interfere with students' school work, we mainly communicated late at night or on weekends. The group chat lasted for about a year until May 26, 2020. And then, because they were high school students, the academic burden was increased, and in addition, the corona infection disease became rampant, so it was inevitably stopped.

Two years have passed since then, and as the infectious disease situation subsided for a while, face-to-face activities became possible, so I suddenly became curious about the news of the brilliant students. On June 14, 2022, I called teacher Chung Eui-won and unexpectedly received great news.

Out of 5 students, 3 passed Seoul National University and 2 passed Yonsei University. In the midst of them, student Kim Ji-hoon received a perfect score in the 2021 CSAT and became a big topic in Jangan.

I felt like I was being rewarded at once for the blood and sweat that I had poured in for nearly 30 years to compile a dictionary (paper & app) so that Korean students could open their ‘eyes of thought’ and study well. Suddenly, a proverb “a tower that has been worked hard will not collapse” came to mind. I changed it to the phrase ‘I will not give up on the app I worked hard for.’ That's because I didn't get my hopes up. Looking back at the old records of the group chat room, student Kim Ji-hoon tried using the sokmeaning dictionary app and left the following evaluation and usage plan!

“(After using the dictionary app), the first thing that came to my mind was that it would be of great help to the vocabulary problems of the SAT.

In question 39 of the mock test in September 2017, a question was asked to distinguish five meanings of ‘combine’, ‘prepare’, ‘prepare’, ‘prepare’, and ‘prepare’. If you don't know Chinese characters well or if you're weak in vocabulary, you'll get this question completely wrong.

However, if you familiarize yourself with the meaning of a word like a dictionary, you will be able to understand the context and guess it. I thought that it would be of great help to the students if we caught the vocabulary points of the regular problems and collected similar words.”

It was on July 23, 2019, that Kim gave me this reply. To hear that I got a perfect score in the CSAT, which was conducted about a year after that, and to have achieved such great results with just one year of quick study, I was truly deeply moved and very happy.

Looking at the daily newspaper articles and interviews at the time, it was said that Kim did not go to any academies nearby throughout the three years of high school, only diligently attending school classes and EBS online lectures. Still, to get a perfect score in the SAT, how precious was the foundation of your academic ability to make an effort to “learn the inner meaning of words and understand the context well”? There is more to know. And I came to know that preparing like that is a stepping stone to a perfect score in the CSAT.

College entrance exam students from all over the country!

You cannot immediately know the meaning of a word with an internet dictionary. With the [Instant Question and Answer Dictionary] app that immediately tells the inner meaning of Chinese characters and words, anyone can become a doctor of Chinese characters. by hint /hanja /heart),

You don't have to spend money on private education like Kim Ji-hoon, who got a perfect score in the SAT. Kim's success story can be easily found on the portal. In addition, if you listen to [Song Meaning Learning Song] on YouTube, you can learn how to study easily and funly.

I hope you too will achieve great success with the Smart App Learning Program.
