Veilr connects you with people around the world for an anonymous conversation — text, voice or video. Pick a format, press Start, and a few seconds later you are talking to a stranger. Not clicking? Press Next and there is someone else.

Veilr is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.

WHAT MAKES VEILR DIFFERENT

• Live translation. You write in your language and your message arrives in theirs. In voice and video chats, subtitles translate what the other person says while they speak.
• Three formats, chosen up front. Text, voice or video is set before the match and never changes mid-conversation, so you always know what you are in.
• Interests. Add a few topics and we look for someone who shares them.
• Sign-in required. You sign in with your Google account. No passwords, no email forms, no profile to fill in. It takes two seconds, and it is the step a throwaway visit does not take.
• 11 languages, one app: English, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Sign in and confirm you are 18 or older.
2. Choose text, voice or video and press Start. While the search runs you see only yourself — time to fix the light.
3. Talk. Press Next whenever you want to move on.
4. If it worked, you both press Connect. The two of you stay in each other's contacts and can carry on in a private chat, with calls and photos.

PRIVACY AND SAFETY

• Anonymous by default. No real name is required. You decide what to reveal. Your photo is blurred for text and voice partners, and the veil fully lifts when you both press Connect.
• Messages in a random chat are relayed in real time and are not written into our database. A conversation becomes saved history only after a mutual Connect.
• Video and voice go directly between the two devices, peer-to-peer (a relay server is used only when a direct connection is impossible). Calls are not recorded.
• Report and Block are one tap away in text, voice and video alike. Automated checks work alongside human review, and breaking our Community Guidelines leads to a warning, a suspension or a permanent ban.
• Nobody under 18 is allowed here. If you believe the person you are matched with is a minor, end the conversation and report it — we act on those reports first.

WHAT IS FREE

Matching in all three formats, conversations, gifts, contacts and private chats are free and unlimited. Every new account also gets a free allowance of message translations and of subtitle minutes. Invite a friend and you earn more of both. A daily streak earns badges.

Free users may see banner ads on the lobby, search, contacts and settings screens, and a closeable full-screen ad after a conversation ends. Ads never appear during a conversation — not in a random chat, not in a private chat, not during a call. Separately, you can choose to watch a rewarded ad in the shop and get free Boost time for it.

WHAT BOOST COSTS

Boost is our main paid product. It is a one-time pass — an hour, a day, a week or a month — not a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Boost gives you:

• priority in the queue,
• exact age and country filters instead of relaxed ones,
• unlimited message translation and a bundle of subtitle minutes,
• a daily allowance of partner photo reveals in text and voice chats,
• no ads at all.

The one other purchase in the app is a separate one-off top-up of subtitle minutes, for people who use subtitles a lot and do not need the rest of Boost. Nothing else is sold: there is no in-app currency.
