Found a gorgeous pattern, only to realise it's written in the "wrong" crochet terms? Turn it into the terms you crochet in with one tap, and get back to your hook.

Crochet Pattern Converter rewrites whole patterns between UK and US terms, stitch by stitch. No more UK double crochets sneaking into your US project, and no more rows coming out the wrong height.

★ PASTE IT, OPEN IT, CONVERT IT
Paste a pattern, or open a PDF, Word (.docx) or text file, and convert it in an instant.

★ NOT SURE WHICH TERMS IT USES?
Many patterns never say whether they're in UK or US terms. Just paste or open it: the app tells you which terms it's written in, and shows you the clues it spotted, so you know before you make your first stitch.

★ SMARTER THAN FIND-AND-REPLACE
UK and US patterns use the same words for different stitches: a UK "dc" is a US "sc", and a US "dc" is a UK "tr". Swap words one at a time and the pattern falls apart. This app reads every stitch as the stitch it really is, then writes it in your terms, so nothing gets converted twice.

★ SEE EXACTLY WHAT CHANGED
Every converted stitch is highlighted, with matching colours in the original and the converted version. Tap any stitch to see what it was before. No guessing, no second-guessing.

★ YOUR PATTERN, JUST TRANSLATED
Rounds, row counts, repeats (* … *) and line breaks stay exactly as the designer wrote them. Stitch counts and decreases like 2dc, sc2tog and FPtr are handled, plurals too, and notes like "written in UK terms" are updated to match.

★ STITCH DECODER
A quick cheat sheet for those mid-row "wait, which one is that?" moments.

★ MADE FOR
• Crocheters who love patterns from designers on both sides of the Atlantic
• Anyone holding a pattern that doesn't say which terms it uses
• Beginners who learned one set of terms and don't want to learn them all again
• Anyone who has ever frogged a whole project because of a terminology mix-up

STITCHES COVERED
Slip stitch, single/double crochet, half double/half treble, double/treble, treble/double treble, double treble/triple treble, yarn over/yarn over hook, skip/miss and gauge/tension.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your patterns never leave your phone. Everything is converted on your device, and there are no accounts. The app is free thanks to a small ad. With your permission where the law requires it, it also sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports that help us improve it, but never your patterns or file names.

Light and dark mode included.
