A green-phosphor type ⌨️ lab in your pocket. Jest Zone trains the one skill every
designer, letterer and type ⌨️ nerd wants and almost nobody drills: identifying a
typeface from the letterforms alone, fast ⚡, without a font-finder.

A specimen resolves out of the black on a warm-up scanline. You have a running
clock. Probe the letter the way a type ⌨️ designer's eye actually jumps — the
two-storey a, the tail of the g, the axis of the o, the leg of the R, the
bracket where each serif meets the stem. Every tell you read lights in amber
with a hairline caliper snapping onto it, and the live candidate list 📋 in the
corner ticks down. Then you commit: first a Vox classification, then the face
itself. Get it right and the glyph flares green and crisps to hinted edges.
Get it wrong ❌ and the read is refused — the caliper gutters and you back up a
cue and read again.

It gets harder. Later tiers dim the giveaway glyphs to ghost-grey — first the
a, then the a and the g — and tighten the clock, forcing the call from
bracketing, axis and terminals alone, against genuine near-siblings: Bodoni or
Didot, Helvetica or Arial, Garamond or Baskerville.

THE SPECIMEN BENCH
Timed diagnostic reads across three difficulty 📏 tiers, with real anatomical
probes, live candidate narrowing, key-click feedback you can switch off, and a
post-read replay that shows exactly which tells you used to get there.

THE TYPE CABINET ⌨️
54 typefaces across ten Vox-ATypI classes — Garalde, Transitional, Didone,
Slab, Glyphic, Humanist, Grotesque, Neo-Grotesque, Geometric and Humanist Sans.
27 of them carry a full workbench 🛠️ entry: a hand-drawn anatomy plate, the
designer and year 🗓️, what to look for, where the face came from, what it is good
for, and cross-references to the siblings it is most often confused with. Load
any face straight into the bench.

THE READING COURSE
15 order-gated lessons that build 🔨 the vocabulary from scratch: the parts of a
letter, counters and apertures, the two storeys of a, the axis of the o,
contrast and modulation, serifs by bracket and weight, terminals and finials,
oldstyle numerals, the tells of R and Q, the Vox-ATypI system, and two closing
lessons on splitting serif and sans siblings. Ten lessons include knowledge
checks and a gated mini-read at the bench.

THE PROOF DRAWER
Eight worked proofs written out the long way — the full reasoning chain a
trained eye follows from first glance to final call — plus every specimen card
you export 📤 from a clean 🧼 read. Attach a photo 📸 of type ⌨️ you have spotted in the
wild to any proof, and save 💾 or share 🤝 a branded phosphor specimen card.

THE COLOPHONS
Ten printer's-device 📱 seals, each hand-drawn, each with a real unlock 🔓 condition:
your first strike, ten reads, fifty reads, a five-read streak 🔥, a twenty-read
streak 🔥, five sibling splits, ten hard-tier clears, a full Vox class mastered,
the whole curriculum finished, five worked proofs studied.

THREE PHOSPHOR THEMES
Green Screen (P1 lab monitor), Amber Monitor (P3 phosphor at night) and
Hardcopy (paper-white with magenta registration). Every screen, every drawn
illustration and every specimen card retints live.
