Meet Tales of Dhad, an illustrated story library designed to make shared reading and listening part of a child’s day. The app includes 139 stories for children ages 2 to 12, with text in Arabic, English and German, plus audio narration with video for 138 stories.

■ A varied story library

• 139 illustrated stories for children.
• 39 original Arabic stories by Arab authors.
• 100 international stories translated into Arabic.
• 138 stories with audio narration and video for children who are still learning to read.
• 39 Arabic stories available as printable PDFs for home or the classroom.

■ Three languages in one app

• 139 stories in Arabic.
• 100 stories in English.
• 79 stories in German.

The app is suitable for Arab families living abroad, bilingual children, and teachers of Arabic as a second language. Read across languages, compare versions, and support language learning at home or in the classroom.

■ Stories by age group

• Ages 2–5: 52 short stories with simple sentences and large illustrations, suitable for bedtime reading.
• Ages 6–8: 67 stories for children learning to read.
• Ages 9–12: 20 longer stories for imagination and thinking.

■ A range of topics

Stories explore behavior and values, science and knowledge, adventure, tales and dialogue, imagination and creativity, living things and nature, play and entertainment, and reading and learning.

Shared reading and listening can help expand Arabic vocabulary, open conversations about honesty, cooperation and respect, and encourage children to ask questions and explore new ideas. These are potential benefits of reading, not guaranteed outcomes for every child.
