Ruminote is a note app that puts your thoughts on a canvas, not on pages. Text, tasks, drawings, photos, audio, video, maps, PDFs and code all live as cards in the same note — and notes link together into a graph of your thinking. AI installs on your device by default; switch to a cloud model with your own key if you want.

✦ THINK ON A CANVAS
• Place 18 card types freely on an infinite canvas, align them with magnets and pins
• Switch between graph, grid and tag views
• Link notes together and see incoming links at a tap
• Start fast with templates, a template store and a doodle & illustration library
• Branch an idea out on a mind map card, expand a node with AI
• Circle cards to group them into a named area

✦ A PEN THAT FEELS REAL
• 26 brushes, layers and brush import; pressure sensitivity, low-latency ink
• Text warp and handwriting; convert handwriting to text, edit with gestures
• Turn drawings into cards and come back to edit any time

✦ AI, ON YOUR DEVICE
• Write with AI: fix, rewrite, shorten, expand, change the tone, explain selected text
• Ask Your Note and Ask Your Notes: chat with one note or your whole vault, and see where the answer came from
• Describe images, extract text (OCR), parse receipts and business cards
• Photo tools: erase objects, tap-select-cut, replace backgrounds and skies, remove noise and blur
• Audio tools: advanced speech recognition in 11 languages, transcripts with speaker labels, noise cleanup, vocal/music separation
• Gemma 3/4 and expert models run on your device by default — search and embedding always stay on-device, even with a remote model
• Semantic search: finds the note even when your words are not in it
• AI Board: give a topic, get a canvas laid out with sections, tables and charts
• On-device AI images: turn a prompt into a picture, free and offline
• Optional remote AI with your own key (OpenAI, Gemini and more)

✦ CODE AND DOCUMENTS
• Syntax-highlighted code cards; run code in 11 languages
• Import PDFs; mark up PDFs and photos, flatten and share — the original file is never touched
• Document scanner with built-in OCR; image crop, searchable PDF
• Bar, line and pie charts straight from a data table
• Table, math and note-reference blocks in text cards
• Quiz/poll card: add an interactive block to a note, scored automatically

✦ WORK TOGETHER
• Share notes and edit together in real time with live cursors; discuss with card comments and mentions
• Compare and restore changes with version history
• Send notes device to device via QR or nearby share

✦ PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
• Every note is end-to-end encrypted on your device with AES-256; the server only ever sees ciphertext — sharing, sync and backups included
• Offline-first: create, edit and search without a connection
• Export all your notes to one file and import them back any time — cards, positions and drawings included
• App lock: fingerprint or your screen-lock password
• See your active devices, sign out remotely
• No tracking. No data mining.

✦ AND MORE
• Natural-language, repeating reminders ("tomorrow at 9am"); snooze, calendar export
• Tags, full-text search, Google Drive backup
• Share a link to get a clipping card with title, summary and cover
• Collections: group notes like folders
• Automation bridge: notify Zapier, IFTTT or Make via webhook when a note changes; local MCP server on desktop
• Private web search, 11 languages, modern Material design
• Listen to a note aloud — the device's own voice, no download
• Also runs on Desktop (Linux) — Windows and iOS in development; send web pages to Ruminote with the browser extension
• Meeting and lecture mode: speech turns into text live; then a transcript with speakers, a summary and tasks

Ruminote Collab unlocks sync, sharing and cloud features. Everything that runs on your device — AI included — is free.

Everything on your mind — words, strokes, sound, code — on one canvas, and yours alone.
