GutBloom is a food diary and symptom tracker for bloating, IBS-type symptoms and suspected food intolerances. It helps you see what tends to happen before your better and worse digestive days, without spending your life filling in a diary.

Bloating, gas, stomach pain, reflux, constipation or diarrhoea rarely follow a meal straight away. Symptoms can appear hours later, meals contain many ingredients, and stress, sleep and routine change the picture. Memory alone is not enough. GutBloom keeps the record for you and helps you read it carefully.

HOW IT WORKS

• Log a meal: snap a photo and GutBloom+ suggests the dish and the ingredients it can see. You confirm or correct every item before anything is saved. Prefer typing? Manual logging always works, and you can scan a barcode for packaged food.
• Check in: record bloating, gas, pain, nausea, reflux, energy and more, with severity and timing, in a few taps. "I feel fine" counts too.
• Add context: note stress, sleep, illness, your menstrual cycle, and bowel movements with an optional Bristol Stool Scale type.
• Look back: Today shows your day as a timeline. History shows a month calendar by symptom level, with filters and search.
• Explore Patterns: after repeated observations, Patterns shows possible associations between foods and symptoms, with the time window, the number of exposures and responses, matched comparisons and how strong the evidence is.

USEFUL FOR

• Working out what tends to come before bloating or a bad gut day
• Keeping an IBS symptom diary between appointments
• Recording a low-FODMAP elimination and reintroduction you are doing with a dietitian
• Bringing a clear food and symptom history to your GP or dietitian

HONEST BY DESIGN

• Possible patterns, never verdicts. GutBloom never says a food caused your symptoms.
• A single meal cannot produce a pattern. Repetition is required.
• A missed check-in is never counted as "no symptoms".
• AI suggestions are shown separately from what you entered, and nothing is saved until you confirm it.
• Evidence is labelled limited, moderate or stronger, and the gaps stay visible.

BUILT FOR REAL LIFE

• Check-in reminders after meals and in the evening.
• Works offline. Entries sync when you are back online.
• Start as a guest and add a Google or email account later without losing entries.
• Large text, screen-reader labels and a dark theme.

YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL

• Separate consent for journal processing, AI photo analysis and app diagnostics.
• Export your whole journal as CSV and JSON to share with a doctor or dietitian.
• Delete your account and data at any time from Settings.
• Your health data is never used for advertising.
