Lumen is a Bible you can read whole, with explanations that show where they come from, and prayer shaped to the hour you are in.

THE WHOLE BIBLE, IN TWENTY EDITIONS

Eighteen are public domain; two are published under a Creative Commons licence and served exactly as published, with that licence shown beside the text. Every one is ingested with its provenance and verified against a checksum each time it is read. Where an edition does not carry a book your tradition holds, Lumen names the book instead of hiding it.

UNDERSTAND, WITH THE SOURCES OPEN
Chapter by chapter, what the text says and how Christians have read it, each claim bound to a reference you can open. Where traditions differ, Lumen quotes the document rather than summarising it: Westminster, the Thirty-Nine Articles, Trent, Philaret.

PRAYER, AT THE HOUR YOU ARE IN
Morning, day, evening and night, offered and never instructed. Prayers that have been prayed for centuries, and room for your own words. Your prayer never leaves this device, and nothing about it is sent anywhere; the Flame marks the day you prayed, here and nowhere else.

CALM ON PURPOSE
No feed. No streaks that shame you. Measurement is off until you turn it on, and religious data is never used for advertising. There are no ads in Lumen.

The interface is in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Czech, Romanian and Vietnamese, and the Bibles in seventeen languages — Ukrainian, Serbian, Chinese, Arabic, Haitian Creole and Russian as well. Lessons, Stories and the Understand layer are in English and French today, and a card that answers in another language says so.

Lumen Deeper is an optional subscription. The whole Bible in your tradition's canon, the daily reading and the Understand layer stay free, always. What Deeper adds is the Bible read aloud: every chapter, in a voice you choose, with the verse lit under it as it is read, on the lock screen and in the background. The whole of Genesis and the first chapter of every book are free to hear. Deeper also carries the rest of Learn: every level of Genesis is free, and the ladder through the other books arrives with the subscription. The readings are produced by a speech model, not recorded by a human reader; the words are the translation's own, unaltered.
