Hydro Corporated is a sci-fi tower defense game set in a deteriorating orbital frontier where automated defense systems are all that stands between survival and extinction. Humanity’s abandoned stations drift through rusted space lanes while hostile forces known as the Hydrogen Raiders launch relentless assaults across fractured orbital grids.

Players collect towers of varying star ratings, with higher-rated towers offering greater base potential and more enriched upgrade trees. Each tower can be heavily customized through a modular upgrade system, allowing for extreme variation in combat roles, damage profiles, utility effects, and tactical behavior.

Every tower supports an expansive build system with up to 100,000 unique combinations per tower. These combinations emerge from layered upgrade paths, branching modifiers, and stacking interactions that can radically transform how a tower functions. A single unit might evolve from a basic kinetic turret into a high-precision sniper platform, an area-denial artillery piece, or a chaotic hybrid capable of chaining multiple effects across enemy waves.

Core gameplay revolves around strategic placement, resource management, and adapting to increasingly difficult waves of Hydrogen Raiders. Enemy behavior escalates over time, introducing pressure that forces players to refine builds, experiment with synergies, and rethink tower compositions rather than relying on fixed meta strategies.

Progression is driven by collecting new towers, upgrading existing ones, and optimizing loadouts for different orbital sectors. Star ratings act as a long-term progression layer, rewarding continued play with access to more powerful baseline towers and deeper customization potential.

The visual style is retro pixel-perfect pixel art, combining crisp, grid-accurate spritework with high-contrast neon highlights and heavily grungy, industrial dark tones. The world feels worn and corrupted; rusted metal stations, flickering holographic interfaces, and fractured orbital debris lit by vibrant energy effects that cut through the darkness.

Hydro Corporated:TD emphasizes experimentation and replayability, encouraging players to discover unexpected combinations and emergent strategies. No two defenses feel identical, and even familiar towers can behave completely differently depending on their upgrade path, making each run a fresh tactical puzzle in a decaying war for orbital control.
