CulerLearn is the companion app for CulerLearn online courses, where learners build real projects. The app connects to the learner's CulerLearn account to show their courses on Android, keep their place in each lesson and keep progress in step with the website.

WHAT THE APP DOES

Courses. The app shows the courses on the account and plays the lesson videos inside the app.
Progress. Completed lessons and quiz results are saved to the account, so the app and the website always match.
Tutor messages. Learners can send a question to their tutor from the app and read the reply in Messages.
Course forum. Each course has a forum, and the app signs the learner in automatically.
Saved copy. Courses, lesson text, messages and the latest posts are saved on the device so they can be read with a poor connection. Videos and images are not saved. This can be switched off in Settings.

LEARNING BY BUILDING

Each CulerLearn course follows one project from start to finish. Lessons are short videos with written steps, so a lesson can be watched once and the page used as a reference. The courses include Rigging and Animating a Creature in WebGL, which goes from a blank Blender scene to a playable Three.js game that runs in the browser.

MODULES THAT OPEN OVER TIME

On some courses, later modules open a few days or weeks after enrolment so learners can pace their study. The app shows which modules are open and which are still locked.

ACCOUNTS AND DATA

Accounts are managed on culerlearn.com. Courses can be bought in the app and paid for through Google Play, and the app then shows the course on the account. The app uses the account to show only the courses the learner can access. Usage analytics are off by default and are switched on only if the learner chooses "Help improve the app" in Settings. Learners can request deletion of their account and data from Settings in the app, or by email.

Course content is protected. The app blocks screenshots and screen recording of course pages.
