Maple Desk Library is a reading journal that lets you record your thoughts while you read. Say it, write it, or capture it, and it's always kept, in your words, on your shelves.

But it's more than just your everyday recorder, or your run of the mill book tracker...

YOUR WORDS ARE THE SOURCE! Every recording you make is another memory added to the library, and another source from which the librarian can draw out new context, new themes, new questions, and new answers.

Record your thoughts, and watch them return time and again with new meaning, new connections, and as new sources for inspiration, learning, and connection. No one can be faulted for not remembering everything they read. That's what Maple Desk Library is here to help you with. It's a place that holds your thoughts sacred, and keeps them in waiting, until the time is right.

Many functions within Maple Desk Library are completely free, always:
• Find and add your favourite books to your shelves and get recommendations based on what you've read
• Record voice notes or type them, book by book
• Transcribe your notes directly on your phone in real-time, no connection needed (requires Android 13 or later)
• Save quotes, via voice or keyboard, or take a photo of a page with the text pulled out and added onto your phone
• Keyword search across everything you've written
• Story predictions, book reviews, and the complete library card profile
• Read about any book and its author, and search through catalogs of that author's other works
• Import your books from popular apps like Goodreads, StoryGraph, and Kindle, or anywhere that exports CSV
• Export to Markdown, and keep encrypted backups only you can open

However, becoming a Patron is where Maple Desk Library truly comes to life. Patrons get full access to the library's helpful services, with nothing to set up:
• Your voice notes, transcribed in greater accuracy over the cloud
• Clean up any note — automatically fix punctuation and grammar, but never change your meaning
• Every note is given automatic tags and contextual fragments
• Ask for summaries of any book, as you read, generated using only your notes and words, every line can be traced back to you
• Enhance your search to include meaning, or, ask a question for a unique answer generated only from your notes
• Have themes appear across your books

The Library also offers a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) license. A one-time license that unlocks all the features of a Patron, and you manage your own API key and usage.

Maple Desk Library is like a vintage wine, it gets better with age. It improves the more you use it. The more of you it's able to draw from, the smarter it gets, because the smarter you get.

It's also private by design. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your library lives on your phone. When a note is sent to be transcribed or summarised, it goes only to providers that keep nothing, and nothing is stored on our side.

Maple Desk Library is a unique alternative to other similarly defined book trackers, reading logs, or book recording apps like Goodreads, StoryGraph, or Bookmory. Give it a try!

Your thoughts, kept sacred. Your books, never forgotten. Maple Desk is here to help, never to steer.
