Tired of manually transcribing your chess games after a long, exhausting tournament round? ChessCapture is here to automate the process!

Designed specifically for competitive chess players, coaches, and clubs, ChessCapture allows you to convert physical, handwritten chess scoresheets into digitized, shareable PGN files in seconds using your device’s camera. Say goodbye to deciphering messy handwriting and typing moves key-by-key on your laptop.

WHY CHOOSE CHESSCAPTURE?
Save Time: Instantly digitized post-game records mean more time spent analyzing and less time typing.
Immediate Engine Analysis: Get your game into Lichess, Chess.com, or ChessBase right after playing, while the positions are fresh in your mind.
Organized Archives: Keep a pristine digital diary of all your tournament games directly on your mobile device.
HOW IT WORKS
ChessCapture is simple, fast, and accurate:

Capture or Import: Take a clean photo of your handwritten scoresheet directly inside the app or import an existing image from your photo gallery.
Auto-Align: The app automatically crops, aligns, and optimizes the scoresheet sheet, resolving rotation and perspective issues to ensure the highest-quality scan.
AI-Powered OCR: The optimized image is securely processed using advanced cloud-based Vision AI, which recognizes handwritten standard algebraic notation (SAN).
Move Verification: The app runs the parsed moves through an offline chess engine to validate correctness. If manual corrections are needed, a virtual chess board lets you step through, detect illegal moves, and make adjustments instantly.
Export & Share: Copy standard PGN text with a single tap, or share the PGN file directly via email, messaging apps, or directly into your favorite chess engines.
KEY FEATURES
High-Precision Document Scanner: Auto-cropping capability designed specifically to isolate and sharpen scoresheet grids.
Handwriting Recognition: Advanced AI trained to read varying handwriting styles across different physical scoresheet layouts.
On-Screen Interactive Board: Verify and replay your games move-by-move on a virtual chessboard inside the app before exporting.
Local Move Validation: Integrated rule-checking flag system to easily spot and correct OCR anomalies or notation slip-ups.
Universal PGN Export: Copy PGN content to your clipboard or use Android’s native share sheet for seamless routing.
Privacy-Focused: We care about your data. Images are transmitted securely over SSL, processed ephemerally, and deleted from our endpoints immediately after scanning.
PERFECT FOR:
Tournament Competitors: Capture and back up your game list on the train ride home from a weekend congress.
Chess Coaches: Scan multiple student scoresheets simultaneously after a junior match, readying them for group masterclasses.
