A little street can begin with one shape: a stepped roof, an open arch, a window that catches your eye. Gablelane gives that first idea a place to grow.

Arrange a row of miniature frontages and shape each one individually. Change the roof silhouette, height, width and window rhythm. Try a quieter paint on a neighbor, move a building along the row, or open more space between the walls. The street redraws as you work, so every choice has a visible result.

Come closer to the details. Choose an arched, square or double doorway. Give the wall a brick or panel treatment, add a balcony rail, or place a striped awning over the entrance. Set the scene beside paving, a garden edge or a canal; switch between day, dusk and night, with trees and street lamps where you want them.

The illustrated fieldbook offers a different way in. Explore facade studies grouped by their character, from stepped silhouettes and quiet arches to garden edges, workshop fronts and lantern rooms. Each study pairs its image with composition notes, a small making experiment and a suggested starting structure. Bookmark a detail or leave your own observation beside it.

When you want a useful constraint, open a creative brief. Build a skyline with a pause, put the broad beside the slender, or keep one accent among quieter colors. The brief follows the structure of your current draft while the creative decisions stay yours.

Keep the versions that matter. Save an independent edition with a name and a note, open a working copy, or duplicate an idea before taking it further. Compare two saved streets alongside their actual differences in height, roof sequence, spacing, light and details. Undo and Redo make it easy to explore structural changes while you work.

Finish with a clean PNG of the street you made. Your cabinet keeps the editions; the table keeps your current draft ready for another small change.
