An atmospheric neon aquarium: an idle RPG set in the sprawling, rain-soaked streets of Neo Nocturna.

In Notrunner, you follow a lone runner surviving in a dark dystopian megalopolis. She explores distinct districts, investigates mysterious signals, takes on street contracts, infiltrates subnets, faces hostile squads in turn-based combat, and returns to her modest apartment to rest and recover.

A game that plays itself:
Notrunner is designed to be watched, enjoyed, and experienced at your own pace. Your character wanders through the city autonomously, deciding when to take contracts, when to fight, and when to retreat. Interacting with the screen is always optional: tapping accelerates actions, hacks street devices, triggers visual neon effects, and guides movement, but is never required to progress.

Classic tabletop RPG mechanics:
Every action in the game is resolved using pure tabletop roleplaying rules:
- Visible dice rolls: Reflexes, skills, and open d10 and d6 rolls determine every shot, dodge, and system breach.
- Lethal combat and street breaches: Armor degrades with damage, critical injuries require medical attention, and street lamps, cars, drones, and billboards can be hacked mid-fight to turn the tide.
- Deep system breaches: Infiltrate regional subnets, bypass security nodes, and deploy combat programs in tactical encounters.
- Skill progression and implants: Earn improvement points and Neobits to unlock upgrades across specialized branches including firearms, evasive tactics, blades, and advanced programming.

Patrol the streets with your cat Kuro:
- Uncover the six echoes of the "Frequency 00.0" investigation across the city to awaken Kuro, the black cat from your apartment.
- Once awakened, Kuro patrols the streets at your side, fetches dropped data shards and Neobits, marks priority targets in combat, acts as a feline firewall against enemy hackers, accompanies your avatar into the Net, and pulls you back from lethal blows with Nine Lives.

Illustrated pixel art and dynamic 2D lighting:
- High-contrast visual direction combining illustrated pixel art silhouettes with normal-mapped 2D dynamic lighting, reflective rain puddles, and glowing neon signage.
- Explore four districts with distinct atmospheres and factions: the rain-drenched avenues of Halsted, the lantern-lit markets of Kagura, the lawless ruins of Pacific Coast, and the quarantine zone of The Static.
- Cohesive retro-futuristic aesthetic with custom synthwave and ambient soundscapes.

Ethical design principles by GeeseBumps:
- Zero advertisements: No banner ads, no popups, no rewarded video ads.
- Zero microtransactions: No premium currency, no loot boxes, no energy timers, no paywalls.
- Complete privacy: The game requires zero Android permissions, collects no personal data, includes no third-party tracking libraries, and plays completely offline.
- Safe progression: Progress is preserved locally and backed up through standard Android system backups. Losing a fight simply means a recovery bill and a hospital trip; you never lose your hard-earned progress.

Sit back, watch the rain fall over Neo Nocturna, and let your runner and Kuro navigate the dark city streets.
